France Reacts To Lai Mohammed’s Claims That Financial Headquarters Of IPOB Is In France


Following yesterday’s claim by Lai Mohammed..
France has reacted to claims by the Federal Government that it is sponsoring the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), dismissing such claims.
In case you missed it, Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed had told reporters that the funding of the secessionist group was from France.
The minister said;
“Let me tell you, the financial headquarters is in France, we know…You have to block the sources of finance.”
Now, the French government replied saying;
The French embassy in Nigeria has however denied the allegation, stating that it has no knowledge of IPOB activities in France.
In a statement by its Political Counsellor, Claude Abily, the embassy said the government never got in touch with it on such issue.
The statement said;
“The Embassy of France was surprised by the statement made yesterday by the Minister of Information and Culture indicating that the “financial headquarters” of IPOB were in France.
“We don’t have any knowledge of a particular presence of IPOB in France and the Nigerian authorities never got in touch with the Embassy on this point.
“We stand ready to examine any information which could support this statement.
“Furthermore, we would like to reiterate that France actively cooperates with Nigeria in the field of security and that we strongly support the unity of the country.”

Over 7,000 Lives Lost In Jos Crises – Plateau Peace Agency Reveal

A Plateau State organisation has revealed the shocking number of casualities which came about as a result of the crisis in Jos. The Director General, Plateau State Peace Building Agency, Joseph Lengman has said modest estimate puts the figure of those killed in crises in Jos in a little more than the last 10 years as slightly above 7,000.
