Rio Ferdinand Reveals What Anthony Joshua Told Him After He Turned To Boxing
As Rio Ferdinand launches a new career in professional boxing, he's seeking advice from the very best.
The 38-year-old is set to come of sporting retirement. But he's opted to lace up a pair of boxing gloves instead of lacing up a pair of football boots.
While the former Manchester United and England defender is looking incredibly shredded ahead of his venture, he'll compete in the cruiserweight division, nixing any 'potential' fight with Anthony Joshua.
Though he's turned to the WBA, IBF and WBO world heavyweight champion for a piece of guidance.
And not only has he offered advice but he's also opened up his gym to Ferdinand.
"I spoke to Anthony the other day and he told me I can come and use his gym; that I can come and train with him," Ferdinand told Evening Standard.

Joshua has his next world championship bout set as he defends his belts against Kubrat Pulev, and the opportunity to dissect his brain ahead of his bow will be invaluable.
"It's great to have someone of that expertise prepared to let you come and use the same gym as them. To have a bit of time with a world champion like Joshua would be great.
"I have been to watch his fights. He is unbelievable and what an athlete. I will definitely be leaning on him for advice and guidance. He's a world champion, a main man.

Then revealing the advice passed down from the unbeaten heavyweight ruler.
"Anthony has warned me about what I'm taking on. He said, 'Listen, this won't be easy, it won't be a walk in the park. There are going to be grueling sessions to get through'. But I understand that."
Before admitting it's a huge test, while being realistic about the outcome.
"This is a huge test of my mind and body. I'm not looking at it to become the world champion, I'm not stupid," Ferdinand added
Ferdinand will be under the tutelage of former amateur and professional standout Richie Woodhall who'll be hoping to lead his charge to boxing glory.
