Amancio Ortega overtakes Bill Gates to become the richest person in the world



Spanish retailer and Zara founder, Amancio Ortega, is now the richest person in the world, with a $200 million edge over previous leader Bill Gates.
According to Forbes’ real time ranking, Ortega is now worth an estimated $85 billion, up an extra $1.2 billion from last month.
The 81-year-old Ortega has held the top position three times before, but he has always relinquished the lead within a day. Most recently, he surpassed Bill Gates on Tuesday, but by the end of the afternoon he was $100 million behind the Microsoft co-founder. Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, who held the top spot for a brief period last month is now ranked No. 3 with $82 billion.

Couple Attempt To Sell Children For N500,000 In Imo State

An intending couple has been paraded yesterday in Owerri, Imo state for attempting to sell two children they kidnapped. The kids are said to be children of a woman identified as Abigail Ukah in Uzoagba, Ikeduru local government area of Imo State. The deal was allegedly masterminded by the cousin to the children’s mother, Ms. Oluchi Chibike, with the collaboration of her would be husband, Obinna Eze. Speaking at the parade of the suspected criminals yesterday in Owerri, the Imo state capital by the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Chris Ezike, said the would be husband, Obinna Eze, confessed that he only collected the sum of N500,000 for the sales of the children. A stunning Sudanese model who became a fashion icon after moving to the US from a refugee camp has detailed the cruel bullying she faced growing up, at the hand of classmates who thought her skin was ‘too black’, according to Dailymail.
