‘I never thought I was beautiful as a child’

Seeing the beautiful and very fashionable woman she is today, it’s hard to believe that there was ever a time when actress Beverly Naya didn’t believe she was all that, but that is her story.
The British-born Nigerian actress took to her Instagram this afternoon to share a very inspiring post where she talked being bullied as a child because of a bad case of Eczema, living her life feeling like she needed to overcompensate for her lack of self-esteem and finally saying fuck it to become the woman she is today.
Here’s what she wrote:
I’ve come a long way from the little girl who was bullied for having really bad eczema, crooked teeth, a ‘lightbulb head’ and ‘football legs’. I never thought I was beautiful as a child and once I hit my early teens, I found myself overcompensating for my lack of self esteem.
I wanted to please in every way to the detriment of my own…
