Mbappe kill Ronaldo dream return to Man United
Premier League giant Manchester United reportedly missed out on re-signing Cristiano Ronaldo this summer due to former Monaco sensation Kylian Mbappe's refusal to replace him at Real Madrid.
The 32-year-old four time Ballon d Or who said to have grown upset by the way he has been treated by Spanish authorities, having been accused of tax fraud totalling almost £13m.
However, the Portugal skipper Ronaldo reportedly also feels victimised by the La Liga FA after handed with five match ban for pushing centre referee in the Spanish Supercup win over arch rival Barcelona.
According to The Times, The Portuguese all time leading scorer departure from the Santiago Bernabeu was hampered when the 19-year-old Frech striker Mbappe baulked at the idea of replacing him.
The report claims that Mbappe, who has since joined Paris Saint-Germain from AS Monaco, did not want to deal with the pressure of being Ronaldo's heir apparent.
Ronaldo spent six successful seasons at Old Trafford where he won Premier League, FA Cup, Carling Cup and Champions League before joining Los Blancos in 2009–10 season for a world record transfer fee at the time, of £80 million.
