Premier league Clubs Vote To Close Transfer Window Before Start Of Season



English Premier League clubs voted on Thursday to close the 2018 close-season transfer window before the start of the 2018-19 campaign.
Managers have complained that the ability for players to move when the season is under way causes disruption to their squads and preparations.
From next season, the window will close at 17:00 BST on the Thursday before the Premier League season begins.
The vote was not unanimous and clubs will still be able to sell players until the end of the normal window.
The window across Europe runs until 31 August. The Premier League’s move means that while clubs will be able to sell until that date, buying activity will cease on 9 August for the 2018-19 season.

Couple Attempt To Sell Children For N500,000 In Imo State

An intending couple has been paraded yesterday in Owerri, Imo state for attempting to sell two children they kidnapped. The kids are said to be children of a woman identified as Abigail Ukah in Uzoagba, Ikeduru local government area of Imo State. The deal was allegedly masterminded by the cousin to the children’s mother, Ms. Oluchi Chibike, with the collaboration of her would be husband, Obinna Eze. Speaking at the parade of the suspected criminals yesterday in Owerri, the Imo state capital by the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Chris Ezike, said the would be husband, Obinna Eze, confessed that he only collected the sum of N500,000 for the sales of the children.
