Ian Wright Names Surprise Preference For Next Arsenal Manager

he conversation about who should replace Arsene Wenger feels like it's been going on as long as Arsene Wenger has been in charge at Arsenal. However Ian Wright may have come up with the strangest of suggestions.

It's hard to imagine it now but there was a time when Arsene Wenger was considered one of the best managers in the world and all the conversation about him was about rivalry with Sir Alex Ferguson and not whether he should leave Arsenal or not.

For the past few years the Frenchman has had to contend with campaigns, marches, signs and chants against him- not exactly becoming of the Premier League's second most successful manager.

But at 67 years-old and over 20 years in the job in the red half of north London there is absolutely no doubting that the former Monaco boss must be closer to the end of his time at the Emirates than the beginning.

So who should take over from the current boss at the Emirates? Well legendary Gunners' striker Ian Wright has given his idea. Speaking to BBC Radio 5 live, via the Telegraph, he named Sean Dyche as the man he'd like to see take over saying:

"I believe he (Dyche) is somebody that needs to go, at some stage, to the next level. He's an experienced manager in the Premier League. He's done his groundwork with relatively smaller teams and got them set up well."

It would certainly be a very interesting appointment but despite the fact that Dyche has done brilliantly to get Burnley into the Premier League, and keep them there for a season, you can't imagine Dyche being the right fit to move from the Clarets to the Gunners.

Wright, the club's second top scorer of all time and now a BBC pundit, added that he expects that Dyche's next job will be elsewhere in London saying, "They'll probably start touting him for the England job. We're so bereft of any manager that's good enough, that can take on the England job. If he carries on like he is he'll probably be pushed into that role."

Surely Dyche won't be Arsenal's next manager.
