How five fans have actually won money by betting on Sergio Aguero to Arsenal
It’s been a crazy transfer deadline day so far, even though very few deals have actually gone through.
The rumour mill has been working overtime and there have been so many conflicting reports that nobody knows what to believe anymore.
Most of the stories have centered around Arsenal. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has joined Liverpool while Alexis Sanchez now looks set to stay at the Emirates despite his desire to join Manchester City.
The unsettled Chile international had hoped to complete a deadline day move to the Etihad Stadium, but Arsenal were only prepared to sell if they could first sign a replacement.
The Gunners went all in for AS Monaco midfielder Thomas Lemar, offering a club-record £92 million fee, which was reportedly accepted.
However, the transfer collapsed after the France international told Arsenal he didn’t want to join them, due to the fact they are not in the Champions League this season. His preference was to sign for Liverpool.
Paris Saint-Germain winger Julian Draxler has also been linked with a move to Arsenal, but that deal also appears very unlikely to happen.
Arsenal were linked with Sterling and Aguero
Earlier this week it was reported that Arsenal may have sold Alexis to City if they could sign a player in return.
Raheem Sterling and Sergio Aguero were apparently the two City players Arsene Wenger was most keen to land.
But why would either of them, especially Aguero, want to join Arsenal right now?
Five fans made Aguero to Arsenal bets with Paddy Power
This is the question most logical Arsenal fans asked themselves, but five Arsenal supporters got excited and placed bets on the Argentine striker becoming the Gunners’ latest star signing.
What a complete waste of money, right? Well, actually, it turns out the five fans in question ended up making a profit.
